Alert tokens
Makes an alert email dynamic, using the same {{Token name}} mechanism as report subject
lines, so the message reflects the event that
actually triggered it rather than staying generic.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”While editing an alert, select Insert token wherever you can type - the subject or the
body - and pick one from the menu, the same {{ }} picker used throughout KPImailer. A
token resolves to its live value at the moment the alert fires: which task or report
triggered it, whether it succeeded or failed, and when.
Worked example
Section titled “Worked example”An alert watching a nightly reload task sets its subject to {{Task name}} - {{Status}}, so
a failed run arrives in the data team’s inbox as “Nightly sales reload - Failed” instead of
a generic “Alert triggered” subject they’d have to open to understand.
