Inserting Qlik objects & tokens
Places a live Qlik object - a chart, table, or KPI - or a live token into a cell, so the workbook fills with current data each time the template is used.
Inserting a Qlik object
Section titled “Inserting a Qlik object”- In the pane, browse or search the connected app’s sheets to find the chart, table, or KPI you want.
- Click the cell in the workbook where it should start.
- Insert the object from the pane. It’s placed at that cell and fills with the object’s live data.
Each placed object becomes one of the template’s bindings, shown as a count on the templates list.
Inserting a token
Section titled “Inserting a token”Tokens insert a single live value rather than a whole object - a date, the report name, or
a measure - the same {{Token name}} mechanism used in subject
lines and attachment file
names. Place your cursor in a cell, then insert a token
from the pane; it resolves to its live value when the template is used in a report.
Worked example
Section titled “Worked example”A monthly close workbook needs a revenue trend chart and a header that always shows the
reporting month. The author selects a Revenue by month chart from the pane and inserts
it at cell B3, then clicks cell A1 and inserts the Date (long) token so the header
always reads the current run’s month, without manual edits.
