Dynamic naming

Names a sheet - or the workbook file itself - using live tokens, so each run or each copy produced by a sheet repeater gets a clear, distinct name instead of a generic one.

How it works

Wherever a name can be set, insert {{Token name}} placeholders the same way you would in a subject line or attachment file name. For a repeated sheet, the repeater’s own field value is available as a token, so each copy can be named after the value it represents.

Worked example

A workbook repeated by Region names each sheet {{Cycle value}} so the tabs read “North”, “South”, “East”, “West” instead of “Region overview (1)”, “(2)”, “(3)”… The workbook’s own file name is set to Sales report - {{Date (long)}} so saved or downloaded copies sort cleanly by date.

Tip

Dynamic file names matter most when a template is attached to a report that runs on a schedule - without a token, every run’s attachment would overwrite the same generic file name in a recipient’s inbox.
